From a letter to Water & Energy Savings Corporation
"I want to personally thank you for your commitment and excellent service you have provided to the Atlanta Housing Authority"
Renee Glover, CEO
Housing Authority of the City of Atlanta
Water & Energy Savings Corporation partnered with the Housing Authority of the City of Atlanta (AHA) on an energy performance contract to install water and energy system improvements to nearly 2000 of their public housing units. AHA is recognized as a national innovator in the areas of public-private partnerships and the transformation of public housing. AHA had the first public housing project in the nation, completed on August 15, 1936. Today, AHA provides affordable housing for approximately 50,000 Atlantans and its real estate portfolio includes 43 properties, valued in excess of $400 million.
Water and energy conservation measures combined with individual metering of utilities reduced consumption of all utilities. Together Water & Energy Savings Corporation and the Housing Authority of the City of Atlanta created over $1 million in annual savings during fiscal year 2005 through HUD's energy performance contracting program— one more success story for both institutions. The AHA considers Water & Energy Savings Corporation a valued private sector partner.
